Make It Monday #80

It's time for me to get into my Make It Monday #80 Making Garland card! I actually made this card a few days ago, but I'm just now getting the time to post. ;) I may do a second take...I was looking through the other entries and getting inspired! :) But for now here is the original card I decided to make...

I just love Mr. Bones. ;)
This is a super CAS card. I was a little weary of trying to make a garland this way so that it has movement. Usually I just glue in all down so it only looks like a garland, but it doesn't actually move. ;)
I'm not sure how I feel about the placement...like I said I think I will try a second time with some dancing Mr. Bones... ;) We will see if time will allow today. :)

Hope you like it. I would love to hear your thoughts so please leave a comment if you wish.

Supply List:
Cardstock: Recollections Black and Cream, PTI Vintage Cream
DP: DCWV Bewitched Stack
Stamps: PTI Mr.Bones
Inks: PTI True Black, Royal Velvet, Simply Chartreuse, and Orange Zest
Dies: Mr. Bones, Happy Days
Other: Glue Dots, Twine from The Twinery, Green Staples from Making Memories

ETA: I am also linking this up with PTI's Mr's Bones' Spook Out! :)

It's the last week of the anniversary celebrations over at the CASE Study Challenge. The last hurrah is to CASE yourself. ;) I have plenty of cards that I have wanted to re-do, but I was looking through my archives and found a card I really liked and thought "Hey, I can make a cool Halloween card from this!" :) If you've been around you know I LOVE Halloween (I don't think I can say it enough! LOL!)
So here is the original card...

And you can find the original post HERE.

And the new one. :)
I forgot about my Martha Stewart Deep Edge Spiderweb punch until now...I also forgot how much I love it! :)
Isn't Little Ghosty cute? PTI is pretty much AMAZING! :) I love the new Happy Hauntings set. The ghost and all the different faces you can make for him are just too adorable...or spooky...or frightening....or whatever you want! :)
Hope you enjoy it. I really had fun looking at all my past cards and also lots of inspiration to fix re-make them. ;)

Going Green for Halloween :)

Hello again. I am getting this in for the CASology challenge under the wire AGAIN. I don't know why I wait til the last minute to post, but oh well. :) One of these days...right? :) Here is the super cute cue card...(I don't know why I love this cue card idea so much but I do! :) Lol.)

 And my interpretation...

One of the Papertrey Ink DT members did this during the August countdown...she took the new little ghost die and turned it upside down to make a Frankenstein! How cute is that?! I loved the idea so much I had to try it. :)
I'm starting to get excited for Halloween! I hope the weather cools down soon though...like I said in my previous post...I AM DONE WITH THE HEAT! And we have an outside birthday party to go to today...  :)

Papertrey Ink August Blog Hop!!! :)

Hello there. :)

Today is the day for the Papertrey Ink August Blog Hop! WooHoo! :)

Here are the inspiration photos.

We are still getting triple digits here in Texas, so it's a bit hard to get into the Fall spirit and Fall is my favorite time of the year! :( I just love all the textures and colors in the inspiration photos, it reminds me of cooler temperatures and hopefully they are coming soon because I CANNOT STAND this heat anymore!!!!!!!!! :) AAAAAHHHHH!!!!! Anyhoo,

Here is my card :)

I really really really wanted to use some denim and my Hubby was nice enough to let me cut up and old pair of his jeans so that I could try my hand at die cutting denim. :)
It didn't work quite as well IRL as it did in my head...but that is usually the case. ;) I still love how it came out!
I just got the Fabulous Frames dies and stamps in yesterday so I had to play with them. (PS: I got all of my Halloween stuff the day before LOL! If you have been around awhile you know I LOVE HALLOWEEN!)

Hope you like it. I am now going to go and look at all the yumminess on Nichole's blog. :)

I would love to hear your thoughts so please leave a comment if you wish. :)

Here is my take...

I was so inspired by the CAS layout that I did a set of four different cards...
 This is little skelly...

I punched the apple out of three separate pieces of cardstock and stacked them to look like a pile of papers. ;)

Make It Monday #78

I had lots of trouble with this Make It Monday technique...and I remember now why it's been so long since I have used hand stitching on a card! And this card looks NOTHING like it did in my head...not even close! :)

WARNING: This post has lots of whining and venting. Sorry. :)

So first of all, I tried to do a blanket stitch on a die cut tie. I laid out the DMC Floss nice and straight, tied a knot in one end and then stuck the needle through the hole...and it knotted up on me! So it took me about 10min. to get it un-knotted (and if you are like me and can only craft when your child is asleep you know that time is a finite thing and cannot be wasted! ;) I get about 4 more holes in and it knots up on me again! This time I wasted 15min and then decided that the die cut idea was out! (I couldn't get it un-knotted.)
So then I moved on to the idea of stamping a line of ties, one in a darker color and then stitching around the darker one. Well after all was said and stamped I realized my ties were crooked. Not enough to look like it was on purpose, just enough to annoy the bejesus out of you! ;) So I tried to fix it by cutting in down in size at an angle...no such luck. So then I thought I will just make the panel itself crooked...then I decided I needed something to offset the crooked panel, hence the circle. ;)
Now on to the stitching...it knotted up yet again, and then broke (not because I was frustrated or anything;) so I had to get a whole new piece of floss.   *Sigh.*   If I could get my act together I would like to use this technique more because the end result is pretty nice. ;)

I tried just one more after my first disaster, just stitching in a straight line, and it worked out much better for me and didn't take quite as long. ;)
I added the bling as an after thought, but I really like it.
For this one I used the color palate from The Playdate Cafe, but sadly it was too late to enter it there as well.

Hope you like it. I would love to hear your thoughts so please leave a comment if you wish. :)

As most of you know, I love me some Retro Sketches! And this week is no different. Here is the sketch...

 Cute, cute right? :)
And my interpretation...
I just love these little stamps I got from Michael's last year. ;) I stamped the little guy on vellum and then embossed him in black and then fussy cut him out. :)
The shadows and lighting for the photos is a little funky because I was taking the pic at night. As you know, I stink at taking photos! :)

Hope you like it. I would love to hear your thoughts so please leave a comment if you wish. :)

Supply List:
Cardstock: Recollections Kraft
DP: Recollections Midnight Magic and DCWV
