CASology #4

I've tried to play along with CASology since it first started and haven't been able to...til this week. ;) I was pondering an pondering this cue card...

 And last night I had an epiphany. ;)

 I was thinking about my stamp sets and what I could use to make bird cages and what stamps I had that were birds...and this card just kind of fell together. I love it when that happens! :)

 This sentiment is actually one stamp. I just used some creative masking with Scotch tape. :)

I also used the Dress Form stamp with some creative masking so I could put the "bird cages" on a stand. 

I'm really quite proud of myself for stepping outside my comfort zone. I am no good with the bird trend ;)

This week over on the Pink By Design Challenge blog the challenge is to get your Punny on. ;) LOL! I just got my new PBD stamps last week and haven't been able to ink them up, so today I whipped 'em out and got to work! :)

 I won a gift certificate to the PBD store and bought the Mad Scientist stamp set with it! :)

 Here is a close up of the background. I used the little amoebas to make my own background paper. :)

I just think the set is so adorable! :)

Retro Sketches #22

With this card I started out with a completely different idea. I didn't get to finish it and when I came back the next day I didn't like my original idea so I altered it a bit. :) I used this weeks sketch over on the Retro Sketches Challenge blog. I LOVE Retro Sketches! :) Here is the sketch...

 And my take...

 This color combo just sort of came out of nowhere. :) But I think I like it.

 On the solid sunshine rays I stamped a darker color on top with a different pattern.

I just love the Hello Sunshine stamp set by PTI. All of the sentiments remind me of my Grandma. ;) She was amazing.

It's Been Awhile Mojo Monday...

It's been quite awhile since I played along with Mojo Monday so I decided to give it a go this week. :) I think my mojo is still on the fritz though...here is the sketch...

 I'm not 100% satisfied with this card...it feels like it is missing something....

Make It Monday #76

For Make It Monday for Papertrey Ink over on Nichole Heady's blog she revisited an old technique and added a new twist. Stamping with bleach and then stamping color over it! I was intimidated with the bleach at first...I was sure I was going to get it everywhere...lol. But I had an idea right as I was falling asleep last night...

 I wanted to make a starry night...

 I made the card base with Enchanted Evening card stock (I tried True Black but the bleach didn't work on it!) I stamped several different sizes of stars with the bleach and then I stamped a medium size star with Harvest Gold over the top of the large stars to try and give the effect of twinkling. I don't know that it worked the way I wanted it to, but the card is still ok.

To make the moon I used the second smallest circle in my Spellbinders circle nesties set and cut our a full circle with Harvest Gold card stock. Then I moved the die over a bit and cut out a little less than half so I could get a half moon. :)

A Little Color With CAS-ual Fridays

I really like the challenge over at CAS-ual Fridays this week. The colors are just so inspiring. And the design team really out did themselves this week. All of the cards are amazing! And just looking through the other entries so far I think I am going to be following a TON of new blogs! :) Here is the challenge...

 I know, I know....again with the Happy Hexagons! They are just so super versatile! :) Ink: Enchanted Evening, Simply Chartreuse, Aqua Mist, and True Black. All PTI. The sentiment is from the Signature Series Dress Form stamp set.

The card base and panel are Stamper's Select White and the DP is from the Enchanted Evening Pattern Pack (also all PTI;)

A "Less Is More" Sketch

So I'm addicted to my PTI Happy Hexagons stamp set (as many of you predicted I would be! Lol!) So I thought that I would use them on this weeks Sketch over at "Less is More." Here is the sketch...

 Here is my take...

 I used Harvest Gold, Melon Berry, and Stamper's Select White card stock. Ink: Melon Berry, True Black. All PTI. :)

I used the Happy Hexagons stamp set and then the Signature Series Dress Form stamp set for the sentiment. To make the border I used the Fiskar's Upper Crest edge punch. :)
