Think Outside the Box

For the 2nd week of celebration for the CASE Study's Anniversary the challenge is to Think Outside the Box. Try something new to you...well I have only tried paper piecing once before with disastrous results so I stayed far far away from it. You would think it would be easy to paper piece something, but for me, it's WAY HARDER than it looks! Well, I decided to give it another go...starting out simple at first...

I took my Mummy stamp and pieced in some of his bandages...
Here is a close up of the little guy. I didn't want to do all of the bandages because I thought that would look over loaded. I like that just a few of them are different. ;)
Aren't those little glitter ghosts fun?

Anyhoo, hope you like it. :) I would love to hear your thoughts so please leave a comment if you wish.

 And here is my interpretation...

Clean and simple but fun to make. ;)

A CAS-ual Fridays Halloween

I actually made this card on Friday, but I have been doing a major overhaul of my craft space so I haven't posted it until now. I wish I had taken before pictures but I didn't, oh well. I'm still not 100% satisfied, and I don't think I'm done purging old stuff yet...maybe a giveaway soon? :) Who knows...stay tuned!

So enough babble and on to the CAS-ual Fridays challenge...

 And the card...
The card base is 4x4 square. ;)
I felt like I couldn't get a good picture. I am the world's worst at taking photographs of my cards. If you have any suggestions I would really appreciate it. I'm so not a photographer. :)
I really like this layout...I'm sure I have seen it several places before. ;)
I hope you like it. I would love to hear your thoughts so please leave a comment if you wish.

...and I always think of getting muddy and messy when playing around a pond! :)

Hope you like it! I would love to hear your thoughts so please leave a comment if you wish. :)

Make It Monday #77 With Papertrey Ink

Well let me just say, when I saw the title of the tutorial video I went, "Oh poo, I suck at water coloring...I have the shakiest hands known to man when it comes to trying to paint something halfway decent." Then I watched the video (because I LOVE EVERYTHING that Dawn McVey creates. She is my paper crafting hero!;) And I thought that maybe I could do this...it doesn't have to be perfect and to get the hang of it I can do some really abstract stuff at first. So, if you have been hanging around my blog lately (thanks a bunch if you have! ;) you know that I am in the process of making all of my Halloween invites, so this is where the abstract water coloring comes in... ;)

I started off just making a patch of color.

Then I tried the mixing technique.

For this one I wanted a gradient patch of the red...

I probably could have gone a bit lighter on the bottom end.

This is the one where I started to try the coloring in...I picked a nice safe image to start off with. ;)

Then I decided I wanted a stormy sky so I just fiddled with some masking and shading until I was
  satisfied. ;)

Afterwards I was feeling pretty confident, but I realized I don't have many image stamps...they are mostly sentiments...I think I will have to work on a remedy for that! :)

Hope you like them. :) I would love to hear your thoughts so please leave a comment if you wish.

CR84FN It's Been A Long Time :)

It's been awhile since I've played along with the CR84FN Color Challenge. I had an idea rolling around in my head for the Grunge Me stamp set and couldn't think of a color scheme...so it was CR84FN to the rescue! :)

Super pretty huh? :) Here is my take...
I have seen people using label stamps to make a background and I thought "what do I have that I can do that with?" and the Grunge Me set came to mind. :)
I also found this cool ribbon in my stash. It's black with blue metallic stripes! I know it's hard to see, it's raining here today and I had a hard time getting good photos. I am TERRIBLE at taking photos!
Thanks for looking. I would love to hear your thoughts so please leave a comment if you wish. :)

I love the idea behind the challenge and the design team is one of my favorites ;) I don't often get a chance to play along but I really wanted to get in on the fun for their 2nd Anniversary. The first challenge is to show off your personal style...

I think I do my best when I keep it clean and simple. ;) And Halloween is my favorite holiday (second to Christmas but a VERY close 2nd :)
I hope you like it. I would love to hear your thoughts so please leave a comment if you wish. :)
