Clean & Simple Challenge FTL #177

Hello there, I just realized I didn't get this posted earlier today! :) Zac had his 2 yr well check so we were at the Dr.'s office FOREVER (you Mommies out there know what I'm talking about.) and then I had a few errands to run, and then I needed to get my music picked for my dance girls recital routines and then I had to go to work! But it's really not as stressful as it sounds ;) Anyhoo, here is the sketch for the Clean & Simple FTL #177
It's pretty cute and different huh? :) Here is my take...
It's another 3x3 card (again with my small card obsession;) The patterned paper is old DCWV and I cut the scalloped circle shape with my Making Memories Slice using the Basics 1 card (the card it came with.)
The sentiment is an old EK Success velum sticker (if your seeing a patterned with those it's because I am trying to use more stickers. I have a huge stash of them and for some reason hardly ever used them, so I am challenging myself to use more stickers!) The heart is a Martha Stewart punch.
The bling is some old Darice self adhesive red rhinestones. All the card stock is Recollections.  :) Hope you like it, thanks for looking, and feedback is always appreciated! ;) Have a wonderful evening!

Clean & Simple FTL #176

Hello again, another challenge? I think so! This is from my favorite sketch site of all time Clean&Simple! I just love this blog, I have made a ton of cards using their sketches. Here is FTL #176...
And here is what I came up with for it....
The patterned paper and card stock are Recollections. The sentiment is an old EK Success velum sticker. The border is also EK Success. The tiny hearts are and old Fiskars finger punch. :)
This card is actually really small, 2x4 I think. I think I've mentioned several times that I have had an obsession with small cards going on right now. :) Thanks for looking, feedback is always appreciated! :)

Cricut Creations Challenge #67

Hello, I have been going challenge crazy over here. I know you can combine challenges, but as for me, I like to create a unique card for each. ;) This card is for the #67 Cricut Creations with Hearts or Love Theme over on the Paper Playtime blog. Here is what I came up with...
I used my Cricut Expression and the Create a Critter cartridge for the winged heart and the Elegant Edges cartridge for the heart border. :)
The sentiment is an old EK Success velum sticker. I used Elmer's Craft pop up dots medium size to pop up the heart and give it some dimension. :)
The patterned paper and card stock are all Recollections. :)

I thought it was a pretty cute and simple card. Thanks for looking and as always feedback is more than welcome. :)

Girly-Girl Challenge

Hi there, this is a project I came up with for the Girly-Girl Challenge over on My Craft Spot. The challenge was to make a girly, frilly, or bling-y card for, duh, a girl. ;)

Here is what I came up with...
This is actually a 3x3 card, I don't know what my obsession is with smaller cards lately, but o well. ;) The patterned paper is Recollections and I used my Cricut Expression and the Elegant Edges cartridge to cut out the scalloped square background and the Create a Critter cartridge to cut out that sweet butterfly.
The bling is old Darice and, its a bit hard to tell in the photo, but I used some gel pens to make some faux stitching around the butterfly. The card stock is Recollections and Bazzill.
Here's a better close up of the "stitching." Also, the "hugs" sentiment is and old EK Success Velum sticker.

Thanks for looking, hope you enjoyed it! Feedback is always welcome! :)

Holiday Frames

Good morning all! Happy Valentine's Day!

So awhile ago, I bought these frames at Target. They were a $1 for a three pack so I bought three separate packs. One each of black, white, and silver. I used some of the frames to put pictures of my son and various relatives in and decorated them a bit and gave them to the respective relative for Christmas. I had three left over and wanted to use them, but couldn't figure out what to do with them. I was looking at crafty blogs (that's what I do when my son is on one of his "I do it by myself" kicks) and got the idea to use them for holiday decor. I started with Valentine's Day and I plan to make interchangeable "pictures" for each holiday.

Here is the first one...
The patterned papers are DCWV. The ribbon is from the Paper Studio. I cut the "love" sentiment with my Making Memories Slice using the Basic 1 card then I ran it through my Texture Boutique with a dotted embossing folder. :)
Here is a close up so you can see the embossing. :)
And this is what it looks like in the frame. :)
This is 2 of 3. ;) I used the monogram "A" for our last name. I cut it out using the Slice again but this time I used the Wedding card. The ribbon is from my stash (possibly from and old Michael's dollar bin) The patterned paper is Recollections.
The edge punch is EK Success Arrow.
Here it is in it's frame. ;)
Here is 3 of 3. ;) The punch around the page is Martha Stewart Deco Fan. I cut the hearts with my Cricut Expression using the Sweethearts cartridge. The "smoochie" velum sticker is old EK Success.
And the close up. I used my Slice and the Words and Expressions Holiday card to cut the "hugs" sentiment.
And here's the frame. :)

Next up I'm going to make some St. Patrick's Day "photos" for them! :)

Also, DON'T FORGET about the awesome giveaway over at Shery K. Designs!

Thanks for looking, hope you are inspired! Have a wonderful Valentine's Day! :)

Zachary's Party Festivities

So now that the after party fatigue is ebbing (we had an amazing time! What a great party!) I now have time to post pics! I am awful at taking action shots of the actual party bc I am always running around trying to make sure everyone is having a good time, but luckily my father in law is good at that so you will get to see some fun things Zac was doing! :)
First off, this was Zac's big present from Mommy and Daddy. ;) His cousins have a trampoline and he absolutely loved it so we decided the he (and we;) needed one. He LOVES it!
These are shots of the table. It wasn't completely set up yet, but you get the idea. :)
This is the cake. Because we were in a rush we didn't even out the layers and plus the humidity here is ridiculous, so the cake developed a "sink hole" in the middle. It was fine though because as you'll see later, Zachary didn't care! :) By the way the cake is double layer triple chocolate with chocolate frosting and the white is actually marshmallow creme. The trucks I got at Wal Mart, .97 for 4. ;)
These are yummy Nutella Rice Crispie Treats. I found the recipe on Pinterest. In fact all of the recipes (except the cake and ranch dip) came from Pinterest. I wish I could take credit for coming up with all this cool stuff, but I can't. ;)  I bought some lollipop sticks at Wal Mart, and I had some star mold trays that my Mom and Aunt got me for Christmas. I put the lollipop sticks in the mold then pushed the Rice Crispie treats into the mold around the stick. They were pretty delicious and there were none left! :)
This is the easiest recipe known to man, and it is super delicious! It's a smore on a stick! I took the lollipop sticks again pushed a big marshmallow on top, dipped it in melted chocolate, then rolled it in crushed graham crackers. So easy and so good. ;) My Father in law said the only thing that could make it better would be to use a chocolate marshmallow! (He and Zachary and I all have a chocolate thing!) They kind of look like pistons in an engine huh? ;)
These are the dipsticks! Another cool and super easy treat. Pretzels sticks dipped in melted chocolate. That's it, and also super delicious! ;)
Spare tires! I didn't even have to make these! They are Little Debbie Grab and Go Chocolate covered donuts! :)
These are the stop light cookies! The original Pinterest recipe called for this complicated cookie recipe, and I thought hey why not just sugar cookies? Then my Mother in Law said, why not graham crackers? Then I said graham crackers with Nutella instead of chocolate frosting! So we used the graham crackers, Nutella and some regular M&M's and some peanut butter M&M's bc there were not enough red ones in the regular pack. ;)
These are the ice cream cone cupcakes. We need to perfect our technique on this one...some of the cones fell over and all the batter came out, and some sprung a leak...we'll get it eventually though. ;) They were really good and there weren't any wrappers laying anywhere! ;)

Now on to the decorations...yeah this is long picture filled post. ;)
This is the sign everyone saw when they walked into the house. I cut all the Cars and the "Radiator Springs" saying with my Cricut using the Disney Cars cartridge. The other letters were cut using the Cricut Classic Font Cartridge. It took forever, but I'm happy with how it turned out. ;)

This is where the banners ended up. :) I also cut a bunch of road signs again using my Cricut and the Disney Cars cartridge and hung them from the ceiling all over the house. PS: Those two ladies in the picture of all three banners are my Mom and Aunt Mary Sue. The chopped off head in the last pic is my sweet Hubby. I'm not the best photog, but there ya go. ;)

Along with the signs I cut out my Mother in Law bought a few Cars things from the store to hang up and set out. :)

Now for some pics of Zac and his cousins enjoying the trampoline and eating cake! :)

Hope you enjoyed the pics, we really had a wonderful day! ;)
