"Less is More" Sketch

Over on the "Less is More" blog they have a sketch...which is rare...but also a plea to keep it CAS. So that's what I tried to do. :) Here is the sketch...
 And my interpretation...
I used a Cuttlebug border embossing folder for the bottom of the card.
I used a scrap of white card stock (Recollections) for the panel. I used the PTI Movers and Shakers stamp set for the sentiment, and Martha Stewart Cherish edge puncher for the bottom of the panel, and some Paper Studio rhinestones.
I used Colorbox ink for the stamp. For some reason the pop dots did not want to come off of their backing so the panel got a bit "roughed up." I'm pretty annoyed about that *sigh*  but o well, I like how the design came out.
Thanks for looking. I would love to hear your thoughts so please leave a comment if you wish. :)

Saturday Paper ala Mode...The Outlawz Challenge

I think when all is said and done I will probably join EVERY challenge group on The Outlawz site! :) This week I played along with the Saturday Paper ala Mode challenge to use a die cut or several :) Here is what I came up with...
I used the largest circle in my Spellbinders Lacey Circle pack to cut the card base and the largest circle from the Spellbinders circle pack for the text DP. All card stock and DP is Recollections.
I used all PTI stamps and dies here...the Happy Days die and the coordinating stamp set and then the Build a Banner die set for the little flag. :)
The twine is Lilac from The Twinery.

Hope you like it, and thanks for looking. :)

I would love to hear your thoughts so please leave a comment if you wish. :)

My First Sketch For You To Try (SFYTT)

I always see these sketches and I love them. I use them from time to time but for some reason have never gotten around to posting them :(  But this time I made it (granted it's under the wire:) So here is the sketch for April...
 And my interpretation...
I wanted to add a little bit, so I used a PTI Half & Half die for the front panel. :) All the DP is grid paper from the Recollections Bold Basics stack.
The cream colored card stock is Recollections. The doily die cut is PTI and I also used sentiments from the PTI Movers and Shakers stamp set. The circle is Spellbinders. The bling and pearl are Studio G, and the butterfly is the Martha Stewart Classic Butterfly punch.
One last look. :)

Thanks for looking I hope you have a wonderful week! :)
I would leave to hear your thoughts so please leave a comment if you wish.

Wishing You...

"...a birthday as special as you are." :) That's what it says under the zipper. :)
I'm playing along with CAS Sunday Challenge over on The Outlawz site. :)
The shape and coordinating stamp are PTI Mat Stack # 3. The "Wishing you" sentiment is from the Movers and Shakers stamp set.
The pearls are Studio 112. The "OPEN" with the arrow is also from the Movers and Shakers stamp set. :)

Very simple but fun because of the zipper! I just LOVE this die cut! Anyhoo, hope you like it and I would love to hear what you think so please leave a comment if you wish.

PS: Sorry the pics are so orange...couldn't get good lighting :(

...Amazing YOU

So I've been wanting to play with my PTI Movers and Shakers Stamp set so I used the Unscripted Sketches sketch for this week. (Those wonderful ladies featured a card of mine last week! Thanks a bunch!!! It was my first feature! YAY!!!!) Here is the sketch...
 Here is my take...
The sentiment in blue Colorbox ink is PTI Movers and Shakers Stamp set. I stamped the "you" with some alpha stamps by Studio G in black Colorbox ink.
The brads are Making Memories and the blue tabs are old Colorbok. I used my BigKick and a Spellbinders Lacey Square die to cut the square panel. The twine is Honeydew from The Twinery. I pop dotted the whole panel.
The DP is My Mind's Eye Twinkle Twinkle Little Boy collection and the polka dot paper is DCWV Lemon Flower stack. The edge punch in the background is Fiskar's Apron Lace. :)

Hope you like it. I would love to hear what you think so please leave a comment if you wish! :)

CAS-ual Fridays #49

Over on CAS-ual Fridays this week it's a sketch challenge. Here is the sketch:
 And here is my take...
Still working on my editing skills. :) Love this set by PTI. The zipper dies are so fun! And the coordinating sentiments are super cute! :) The inside says: "...your age! Happy Birthday!"
LOL! I thought it was clever. ;) Here is a close up of the sentiment. The rhinestones are Michael's and the DP is DCWV Lemon Flower stack. :)

Thanks for looking, I would love to hear what you think so please leave a comment if you wish! :)

Mojo and Make It Monday! :)

Last week was kind of a wash crafting wise...me a Zac were still trying to get over being sick, it was the end of tax season (so I get my hubby back Yay!), and my hubby took off Thursday and Friday so we could get some much needed family time in. So, not a bad week, just not much crafting time. ;)

This week I got Mojo Monday done on Monday! Yay! AND I am entering my first Make It Monday Challenge over on the Papertrey Ink blog. (Have I mentioned that I am obsessed with their products?!)

So for Make It Monday #63 it's all about glittering up your die cuts, so I got to use Mojo Monday sketch #238 to show off my bling. Here is the sketch...

 And here is my interpretation...
I will be the first to admit that I am no photographer. One of my cards was featured last week over on the Unscripted Sketches blog (yay! and thanks ladies!) and I noticed how my photo stuck out like a sore thumb! LOL! So I am trying some editing techniques that will hopefully make my pics look a little more "professional" like. :) So please bear with me until I figure out what works for me! :) (Tips are appreciated as well, hint hint wink wink!)
So back to the card, lol! The background squares were all die cut using my BigKick and the smallest square from my Spellbinders Lacey Squares pack. the DP is Recollections, some from the Floral Garden stack and some from the Mosaic Memories stack. My PTI dies are the doily and the Happy Day die. I also used the coordinating Happy Days stamps.
My glittered die cuts are the butterflies. I punched them out with my Martha Stewart Classic Butterfly punch and then rolled them thru the trusty Xyron X and glittered them up with some silver iridescent glitter. I added a Studio G rhinestone to the middle to pick up the blue in "Mother."
I'm so happy that this technique was featured on the Papertrey Ink blog. I have been using this technique for a while and it is so awesome, and handy! Don't have glitter paper? No problem! :)

Thanks for looking. I would love to hear what you think so please leave a comment if you wish! :)

CAS Sunday at The Outlawz

This is the second challenge I did over on The Outlawz site. Not only did the card have to be CAS, but you have to use 1 die cut, 2 stamps, and three embellies. :) Here is what I came up with...

I used a negative space die cut (which is a fancy way of saying I used the die directly on the card to make a frame. Lol!) I used my new PTI mat stack 3 die.
For the two stamps I used the coordinating mat stack 3 stamp set. I used a frame stamp and a sentiment stamp.
For my three embellies I used the Martha Stewart layering Daisy punch to cut out three different colors of Recollections card stock and stack them. Then I used a pearl to complete it. I put two pink pearls at the bottom to round it off. :)
Hope you like it! :)

I would love to hear what you think so please leave a comment if you wish. :)

New to OUTLAWZ!

So I've seen some challenges from The Outlawz on several blogs that I follow and for some reason I was hesitant to join the site. (Don't know why really...) But about a week ago I decided to go for it and I'm so happy I did! It's so much fun! The first challenge I was able to participate in was the Twisted Thursdays Challenge (my son and I have been sick for about a week now.) This week it was anything goes and the twist was that it had to be a wedding card so here is what I came up with...

I used this Deconstructed Sketch! :) Love these sketches!
Also I have been playing with my new PTI goodies I received in the mail Wednesday. The die cut and coordinating stamps are Happy Day and the banner is a Half & Half die.
The butterfly paper is from my stash (possibly the Paper Studio) and the silver paper is Making Memories. The black card stock is Recollections and the border punch is EK Success Arrow Border.
Also in my new PTI goodies, I got a gift card holder die so I decided to make a coordinating gift card holder for the wedding card :)
I used the same paper, dies, and stamps to coordinate and I added the Martha Stewart Classic Butterfly punch with a Darice rhinestone for just a touch of difference.
The polka dot paper is Recollections.
Here is what the inside of the gift card holder looks like. :)
And here is the set together!

Hope you like it! I would love to hear what you think so leave a comment if you wish! :)

Yay, Freshly Made Time!

I really like the sketch this week over on the Freshly Made Sketches blog. Here it is...

 And here is my take...
The butterfly paper is Recollections from the All Seasons stack. The woodgrain paper is from the Recollections Mosaic Memories stack.
I used my favorite flower stamp from Michael's again to create the background on the circle! I used my BigKick and the Spellbinders circles die to cut the circle. I hand cut the banner and stamped it with an old stamp from my stash using Colorbox ink. The bling is Me and My Big Ideas.
I really like this one...it's spring-y and feminine without being too over the top. :)

Hope you enjoy it and I would love to hear what you think so please leave a comment if you wish. :)

Deconstructed Sketch #47 (and a Late #46)

So I have two cards using two different Deconstructed Sketches....first here is DS #47...
 And here is my interpretation...
The patterned paper is from the Recollections Mosaic Memories stack. The card stock is Bazzill and Recollections.
The flower stamp is from Michaels and the sentiment is Studio G. I used Colorbox ink. The ribbon is from my stash.
Ok, now I have a late #46...here is the sketch...
 And here is my interpretation...
All of the patterned paper came from the Recollections Mosaic Memories stack.
The edge punch is EK Success scallop with diamonds. The bling is Studio G.
The heart stamp is from Michael's and the sentiment is from Studio G.
The card stock is all Bazzill.

Thanks for looking, hope you like them! I would love to hear what you think so please leave a comment if you wish! :)
