Make It Monday #72

Today is not only the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop, but it's also a new Make It Monday. :) This week the technique is to make your own embellies. I made two cards. One is a little simpler than the other, and one has a bunch of popped up layers. :) Here is my take...

This is the simpler of the two. I used Mini Mendhi Medallions stamp set to make the patterns. I used the biggest stamp on the doily and two of the smaller ones on the Limitless Layers circle. The ink is True Black and the sentiments are from the Movers and Shakers stamp set.
I used Stamper's Select White, Raspberry Fizz, and True Black cardstock. I also used the Double Ended Banners die, and the Raspberry Fizz Patterned Pack.
This is the "stepped up" card. More layers and more dimension.
Here are you can see all the popped up layers. :)
And both of them together. :)
Thanks for looking!

I would love to hear your thoughts so please leave a comment if you wish. :)

Papertrey Ink June 2012 Blog Hop!

It's here already! The Papertrey Ink June Blog Hop! Without further ado, here is the inspiration photo...
Cute, cute, right?
And below is the sketch I used... (PS: I heart Deconstructed Sketches;)

And here is my take on both...
I used Aqua Mist and Summer Sunrise Patterned Packs and card stock, Aqua Mist ink, True Black ink, Half & Half die, Heart Border die, Limitless Layers ovals dies, and the Just The Ticket Stamp set. The ribbon is from my stash (Michael's I think) but it matches perfectly! Love when that happen's. :)
Here is a close up of the oval and hand crimped ribbon.
Thanks for hopping along to my humble little blog! :) I would love to hear your thoughts so please leave a comment if you wish. :)

Red White and Blue

This week over on the Ink It Pink challenge it's Red White and Blue time! :) I really like last weeks Make It Monday technique (bordered sentiments) so even though I didn't link this up to that challenge as well, I used the it again. ;) Here is my take...

I love the Grunge Me set by PTI. Although, since it's the Ink It Pink challenge, I would have preferred to use the Hexagon set that Pink By Design has. But alas, (due to my luck no doubt:) that particular set is out of stock. No worries because as soon as it's back in I'm pouncing on it! :)
I used some Colorbox ink for the red, some Martha Stewart ink for the dark blue, and PTI Aqua Mist for the light blue. The card stock is PTI Stamper's Select White. I popped up the whole panel. :)

Well thanks for looking. I would love to hear your thoughts so please leave a comment if you wish. :)

My Chair 12x12 Layout

I realized that I haven't shared a layout with you guys in a while! :) Here is one I did of my son and his favorite lawn chair. He was sitting on it in the living room watching a movie and munching on some animal crackers. :)
I used DCWV Playtime stack for the background. The gingham is from an older DCWV stack (all though I can't remember which one.) The wood-grain paper is from the Recollections Mosaic Memories stack. The ladybug is either Jolee's or Sticko...can't remember which (guess I should write this stuff down...;) The dragonfly is Recollections and the sticker is Colobok.
I hand cut the banner. The edge punches I used were EK Success Binder and Scallop with Diamonds.
I used my Gypsy and the Storybook Cartridge to cut the title out. :)
I just love this little glittered froggy on the bottom of the paper. Isn't he sweet?
Here is a sort of close up on the title. :)

Thanks for looking. I would love to hear your thoughts so please leave a comment if you wish. :)

Make It Monday #71

It's time for another Make It Monday over at {capture the moment} Nichole Heady's Blog for Papertrey Ink. :) The technique is bordered sentiments. You can hop on over to the blog and watch the video to get a better idea. :) Here is my take...

I actually did two cards using this technique (you can keep scrolling for the second one) but I wasn't liking how the first one turned out. I didn't like how the black lines looked for my border. As I was scrolling through the other entries I spotted one that had embossed lines for the border. (I was in such a rush that I forgot to see whose it was, sorry.) I liked how clean that looked so I decided to try it for this second attempt and I like it much better! :) Thank you anonymous. (I am so mad I forgot to write down the blog so I could link it!)
And a side view... I popped up the whole panel. :) I used Mini Mendhi Medallions and True Black-Aqua Mist-Summer Sunrise-Fine Linen for the ink. I also used Egg Plant from Tsukineko.
The sentiment is from the Movers and Shakers stamp set and is inked up with True Black.

Here was my first attempt...
I like it, but I think the black lines sort of cut it off too abruptly...or something...I can't quite put my finger on it. :)
Same products except instead of using Stamper's Select White for the base I originally used Summer Sunrise card stock. :)
Well, thanks for looking. I really like this technique and I'm hoping to use it a lot more in the future. I would love to hear your thoughts so please leave a comment if you wish. :)

Raspberry Fizz and Dark Chocolate...My Favorite

Good morning. :) I have a card to share with you that I made for the Mojo Monday Challenge this week. :) I am in love with the combination of PTI's Raspberry Fizz and Dark Chocolate. I just think it is a nice and rich color combo. :) Anyhoo, on with the post. :) Here is the sketch...

 And my take...
I used the Dark Chocolate Pattern pack and Raspberry Fizz card stock and Pattern Pack. The base is Stamper's Select White. All from PTI. :)
I used the Martha Stewart Layering Daisy punch to make the flowers. I punched three of them and layered them using Elmer's Craft Glue Dots. Those little dots also give the flowers a little dimension. :)
I used Dark Chocolate Ink and the Movers and Shakers stamp set for the sentiments. I also used the Double Ended Banners die. :)
The ribbon is from my stash. :)

Shiny :)

Over on the "Less is More" blog the challenge this week is to make a CAS card with something shiny. I like shiny. :)

Isn't he just adorable? I love this little froggy! This is a stamp set and coordinating die from PTI.
It may be a little hard to tell in the pictures, but his lily pad is glittery green. :) I am a little upset as I didn't realize there was a smudge on his feet until after I took the pics. :( Oopsy.

Thanks for looking. I would love to hear your thoughts so please leave a comment if you wish. :)

Pink and Black :)

This week over on the Dynamic Duos challenge blog this color combo is...

 And my interpretation...
Everything is PTI except the Spellbinders Lacey Square the first sentiment is on and the ink is Ink Xpressions and I heat embossed it with clear powder. :)
PTI Products: True Black card stock, Movers and Shakers stamp set, Smokey Shadow Pattern Pack, Raspberry Fizz Pattern Pack, Tag Sale #5 die, and Double Ended Banners die.
And a side view so you can see the 3D foam tape I used for the focal point. :)

Thanks for looking. I would love to hear your thoughts so please leave a comment if you wish. :)

CASE Study

Usually I'm just a "creeper" over on the CASE Study blog. I love the design team and seeing how everyone interprets the muse's card. ;) It's such an interesting idea for a challenge. This week (since Zachary took a really good nap on Friday) I had time to actually join in. :) Here is the muse's card for inspiration...

 And my card...
Again, everything is PTI! :) Aqua Mist card stock and ink, Simply Chartreuse card stock and ink, Dark Chocolate card stock and ink, Grunge Me stamp set, World's Greatest stamp set, tie die, Limitless Layers Circles dies.
Here is a close up. I originally thought I was going to put the tie on the side of the circle sort of diagonal like, but then I thought it would look cute hanging off the bottom like a real tie. Go figure. ;)
The card base is Stamper's Select White. :)

Thanks for looking. I would love to hear your thoughts so please leave a comment if you wish. :)

Clear As Day

Hello everyone and Happy Father's Day to all the Daddy's out there!!! :)

This week over on the CAS-ual Fridays blog the challenge is Clear as Day...

 Here is my card...
All the paper is PTI: Raspberry Fizz Pattern Pack and card stock, Dark Chocolate Pattern Pack, card stock, and ink. :) I just love the Raspberry Fizz and Dark Chocolate combo don't you? :) The card base is Stampers Select White.
I used some vellum from my stash and the PTI wine bottle die to make the banner. I only adhered it to the top of the card so it would have some movement.
Other PTI products: Movers and Shakers stamp set, World's Greatest stamp set, Limitless Layers Ovals dies.

Hope you like it. I would love to hear your thoughts so please leave a comment if you wish. :)

Ink It Pink Challenge #2

I wanted to play along with the first challenge over on the Pink By Design blog, but I found out about it just a couple minutes before it closed:( But, since I knew it was coming this time I got in on the second one! :) LOL! The challenge is to make a masculine card. I REALLY struggle with making masculine cards. I can make cutsie baby boy cards but once they get older...not so much. Lol. :) I have seen this particular technique that I used several times on a couple of different blogs and so I had to get the PTI stamp set Grunge Me so that I could copy it! :)

Here it is...the (what I call) random but cool stamping of splatters technique. Lol. :)
Not surprisingly if you have been here before, everything on my card is PTI. I used True Black and Stampers Select White cardstock, Grunge Me and World's Greatest stamp sets, and Aqua Mist-Fine Linen-Dark Chocolate-Simply Chartreuse-and Summer Sunrise inks.
I am hoping to win some Pink By Design stamps because I love them as well! (Oh heck maybe I'll just buy some. Payday next week! LOL!) I have some Christmas Stamps that are Pink By Design and they are so cute! I love 'em!  :)

Hope you enjoyed my sillyness today! I would love to hear your thoughts so please leave a comment if you wish! :)

It's Been A Long Time...Freshly Made :)

I haven't played along with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge in a while, no reason, just haven't. :) But I got to this week! :) Here is the sketch...

 And here is my interpretation...
I got a big package of PTI paper (thanks for enabling me MOM! Muah!) And I couldn't wait to play with it! I used Aqua Mish card stock and ink, Dark Chocolate Patterned pack, card stock, and ink. :)
I used the Limitless Layers Ovals dies and the Happy Days die and stamp set. :) (All PTI.)
Hope you like it!
I am having too much fun playing with my new paper so you may get bombarded with posts!!! LOL!!!

I would love to hear your thoughts so please leave a comment if you wish. :)
