Heart

Hello again! :) I did some cards for some challenges this weekend and am just now posting them. I have also been working really hard on Zachary's birthday decorations (it's Saturday! Holy Cannolis!)

This is a card I did for the CPS (Card Positioning Systems) 5th Anniversary Day 8 Sketch. First, here is the sketch...
Now here is my take...
All the patterned paper and card stock is Recollections (the Michael's brand.) I used my little corner rounder for the top right and the bottom left. :)
The hearts I cut with my Cricut Expression using the Sweethearts cartridge. The border punch is by EK Success (love love love their border punches!) The stamp is from and old Inkadoo set and embossed with black powder.

I like how this card turned out and it gave me a chance to play with my new paper. ;) Thanks for looking and feedback is always appreciated! :)

Bear-y Much :)

Hey all, for some reason I am missing a post...I thought I posted this card and another project on Sunday...hmmm...Anyhow, this is an old The Sweet Stop challenge. I didn't make it on time to link up, but I liked the sketch. Here it is...
And here is my take...
I did another smaller card, I believe this one is 4x4. :) All the patterned paper and card stock is Recollections.
The stamp is from my stash. I embossed it in Copper powder. I used my Texture Boutique and the top half of the embossing envelop that came with it to put the swirls in the 2nd piece of patterned paper.
The border punch is Fiskars Apron Lace. The "love" stamp is from an old Inkadoo set and stamped with brown ink. :)

Well got to catch up on some posts since the ones I though were posted on Sunday didn't actually post. ;) Thanks for looking, feedback is always appreciated! :)

Darling 12x12 Scrapbook Layout

Good morning! The hubby and I had an awesome date night last night. We had Chinese food which I have been craving for a long time. :) And the movie was way better than I thought it was going to be. :) Zachary had a fun sleepover with his NaNa, of course he didn't sleep much because he was too excited, but he had fun none the less. ;)

I have a quick scrapbook page to share with you this morning and then I am going to finish ALL of the decorations for Zac's 2nd birthday party next weekend...AAAHHH where did the time go?! My little boy is going to be 2! My goodness it goes fast.... Anyway, here is the sketch I used for the layout. :)

It's from Sketchy Thursdays. I'm so sad that this blog is shutting down. :( I love their clean and simple sketches. Here is what I came up with.
The patterned paper is DCWV and the blue and off white card stock is Recollections. The tan card stock is Bazzill.
I cut the little boat (isn't it adorable?) with my Slice using the Baby card. The strips of paper are edge punched with Fiskar's Apron Lace and EK Success Binder.
I used my Slice and the Baby card again to cut the title. The bling is Studio G.
The journaling tag I also cut with the Baby card. :)
One last look. :) I really like this layout. I'm starting to really embrace "negative" space. :) I was getting very frustrated trying to make my pages massively layered with a ton of embellishments. I love that style, but my eye just doesn't see how to do it when I start on my own work. But now I'm embracing my clean and simple style and I am MUCH happier with my end results. :)

Thanks for looking, and feedback is appreciated! :)

Specially For You

Last post of the night, as it is date night for me and hubby and I need to start getting me and the baby ready. ;) That, and he is starting to get bored with his cars. :)

This time I went over to Mojo Mondays blog and tried their sketch. I don't know where I got the notion but I decided to try a small 3x3 card for the one. Here is the sketch.
I opted for the square version...here is my take.
The patterned paper is old DCWV. I really like that background paper. I want to use more of it since it was a 12x12 sheet and I used less than a 3 in. square of it! :) The ribbon is American Crafts.
I used my Martha Stewart Layering Daisy punch for the flower and cut it out in pink and an orange-y pink card stock from Recollections (using up my scraps!) The bling in the center is from Darice.
The "specially for you" stamp is from my stash. I stamped it in pink ink and then added some clear embossing powder to give it some texture and shine. You can't really see that in the photos though. :( I used my EK Success Layering Scallop punch for the shape. I punched it once in an off white card stock (Recollections) and then the layer from the background paper.

I really like how this one came out and, surprisingly, I really liked working with the small 3x3 size. Thanks for looking! Now I've got to go get ready for my hot date! ;)

Love Love Love

Ok, the little squirt is playing with his cars, so here is another quick post. ;) This time it's for the challenge over on the Freshly Made Sketches blog. I like their sketches as well because they are my kind of clean and simple style. :) Here is the sketch.
I haven't done a long rectangle card in a long time...so here is what I came up with.
The patterned paper is old DCWV and the card stock is Recollecions. I used some brown polka dotted ribbon from my stash. The border punch at the bottom is Fiskar's Apron Lace.
I used my Making Memories Slice and the Wedding card to cut out the shape and the bird. I cut the bird out twice: once with the patterned paper (DCWV) and then once with the red card stock (Recollections.) I then cut the heart out of the red and Elmer's glue dotted it to the patterned one. I also used a pink gel pen to do the faux stitching around the shape.
The "love" stamp is inkadoo. (It came in a set that I bought a long time ago so I can't remember the name now.) I stamped it three times down the side using brown ink. O, I forgot the brown card stock that I matted the pink polka dot paper to is actually Bazzill. :)

Well thanks for looking! Feedback is always appreciated! :)

Be Mine

Hello there! I have been on a card kick today! My son took a good nap, so I got three different cards done for three different challenges! I will probably post them separately because I only get so much time chasing after my little guy. ;)

This first one is for a challenge over at Card Patterns. Here is the sketch.

And here is what I came up with.
I have wanted to use this background paper for a while. :) Both patterned papers are old DCWV.
I used my Making Memories Slice cutting machine and the Words and Expression Holiday card to cut the "be mine" sentiment. The bling is Studio G. I also used my Slice and the Wedding card to cut the shape that I adhered the sentiment to. O yeah, and that is a little bit of silver Studio G glitter glue for the dot on the "i." :)
The ribbon is from JoAnn's and I used my Martha Stewart punch around the page Cherish punch to make the border.
And last, but not least, here is a side view where you can see the Scotch brand foam squares that I used to pop up the sentiment panel and give it some dimension. :)

Thanks for looking! Hope you have a wonderful weekend! (And I may have some more posts today...we will see! ;)

Palm Sunday 12x12 Scrapbook Layout

Hey there, I'm back with another layout! :) This one I did for Sketch Inspiration weekly sketch challenge #305. Here is the sketch but you can also find in here.
It's a nice sketch, don't ya think? :) Here is what I came up with for it. I am sticking to my clean and simple style now, and I'm liking what I'm coming up with! :)
I stuck with an almost monotone green pallet for this one. :) The patterned papers are both DCWV. The palm leaf paper coming from a real photo paper stack.
I used some Recollections green card stock for the letters. The font is from the Making Memories Noel card (again I used my Slice!) Even though it's a Christmas themed card, I have used this one for soooooo many projects!
I used my own handwriting again. I'm starting to like it much better now. ;) I also inked the edges with some Martha Stewart ink. I used my Cricut Expression and the Luau cartridge to cut the palm trees. I used brown Bazzill card stock for the trunk and green Recollections card stock for the leaves.
Here's another close up of the palm trees. I also matted the photos on yellow Bazzill card stock.

Well thanks for looking, feedback is always appreciated! :)
