Last week was kind of a wash crafting wise...me a Zac were still trying to get over being sick, it was the end of tax season (so I get my hubby back Yay!), and my hubby took off Thursday and Friday so we could get some much needed family time in. So, not a bad week, just not much crafting time. ;)
This week I got
Mojo Monday done on Monday! Yay! AND I am entering my first
Make It Monday Challenge over on the Papertrey Ink blog. (Have I mentioned that I am obsessed with their products?!)
So for Make It Monday #63 it's all about glittering up your die cuts, so I got to use Mojo Monday sketch #238 to show off my bling. Here is the sketch...
And here is my interpretation...
I will be the first to admit that I am no photographer. One of my cards was featured last week over on the
Unscripted Sketches blog (yay! and thanks ladies!) and I noticed how my photo stuck out like a sore thumb! LOL! So I am trying some editing techniques that will hopefully make my pics look a little more "professional" like. :) So please bear with me until I figure out what works for me! :) (Tips are appreciated as well, hint hint wink wink!)
So back to the card, lol! The background squares were all die cut using my BigKick and the smallest square from my Spellbinders Lacey Squares pack. the DP is Recollections, some from the Floral Garden stack and some from the Mosaic Memories stack. My PTI dies are the doily and the Happy Day die. I also used the coordinating Happy Days stamps.
My glittered die cuts are the butterflies. I punched them out with my Martha Stewart Classic Butterfly punch and then rolled them thru the trusty Xyron X and glittered them up with some silver iridescent glitter. I added a Studio G rhinestone to the middle to pick up the blue in "Mother."
I'm so happy that this technique was featured on the Papertrey Ink blog. I have been using this technique for a while and it is so awesome, and handy! Don't have glitter paper? No problem! :)
Thanks for looking. I would love to hear what you think so please leave a comment if you wish! :)
